Tell us about your campaign.

I'm running because Rutherford County is growing so fast and people can't keep up. Housing costs are soaring and wages aren't keeping up. Voters aren't being listened to by the current commission. We need controlled growth and better jobs in our community. We need to deal with the Middle Point Landfill and the new jail, both neglected for too long. I have a lifetime of public service and I want to serve the residents of Rutherford county.

In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.

County Commissioners don't pass any laws. But they do approve the budgets of the county, the school board and the sheriff's department. They approve new buildings and residential developments. All of this affects our daily lives.

What are your priorities for this office?

I will listen to the needs of the people, represent their best interests instead of our realtors and land developers currently serving. I will have regular town halls to hear from the people of District 16. I will manage the money paid by our taxpayers carefully as if it was my own.

Describe your qualifications for this office.

I was a Postmaster in Florida, managing the budget for my post office as well as providing excellent customer service. Since moving to Rutherford County, I've been involved with the local Democratic party and the state party, as well as many volunteer opportunities with local charities. Public service isn't just what I did, it's who I am!
