My name is Trey Gooch and I currently serve on the Rutherford County Commission, District 20. I have lived in Rutherford County since 1985 and am married to Diana Gooch. We have two grown children and five grandchildren. I recently retired from Walgreens Drug Store having been a store manager for 27 years. Prior to Walgreens, I worked for the Rutherford County Board of Education with the Adult Education Program. I am a graduate of Culleoka High School (Maury County), Martin Methodist College (Pulaski) and Middle Tennessee State University. As a County Commissioner, I currently serve on the Budget Committee, the Health and Education Committee and the Purchasing Committee. I also serve as the Chairman Pro Temproe for the Commission. My biggest accomplishments during my last term was the adoption of Plan Rutherford, our new Transfer Station, funding and building our Forensic Center, starting the process of funding and building a new Correctional Center and building six Public Safety Buildings. These are examples of my dedication to maintaining public services for the residence of Rutherford County during our unprecedented population growth. Other accomplishments include fully funding our school system, achieving AAA bond rating and pay raises for county employees. I am running for reelection to work toward the completion of a new Corrections complex, to complete a long term traffic plan for Rutherford County and to develop a more efficient and effective recycling program for Rutherford County citizens. As a lifelong Republican, I provide a clear fiscally conservative voice on the Commission.
