Tell us about your campaign.

For 28 years, I have served Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. I worked my way up from detention to patrol, from narcotics and crime suppression to supervising specialized units and leading at the command level. I earned my experience by doing the work, learning the work, and teaching the work. That is the foundation I stand on today. My leadership is built on three principles: servant leadership, transparency, and accountability. These are not slogans. They are the way I have led teams, supported deputies, and made decisions that impact the safety of our community. Servant leadership means never forgetting where you started. I have stood on the roadside at three in the morning, knocked on doors, worked dangerous operations, and supervised the deputies who do those jobs now. Leadership should serve the people doing the work. When deputies know their leadership understands their challenges, they perform better, stay safer, and protect this community with confidence. Transparency builds trust. I have managed operations, staffing, scheduling, and resources, and I know that clear communication and consistent expectations make an agency stronger. The community deserves to understand how its sheriff’s office operates, and deputies deserve leadership that is open, steady, and honest. Accountability has guided me my entire career. Leaders must set the standard. That means fairness, consistency, and taking responsibility for the outcomes of our decisions. Accountability strengthens the department and reinforces the community’s confidence in its sheriff’s office. I am passionate about the safety of this county because I have spent my entire adult life protecting it. I understand how crime moves through Rutherford County because I have spent years confronting it in narcotics, violent crime suppression, and countywide operations. My focus has always been proactive, professional policing that keeps families safe and supports the deputies who serve them. I also believe in moving the department forward without placing unnecessary costs on taxpayers. With years of experience managing budgets, staffing, and resources in both law enforcement and business, I know how to make smart, efficient decisions that strengthen the agency and respect the county’s finances. I bring decades of hands‑on experience, a deep understanding of this community, and a PROVEN leadership philosophy built on service, clarity, and accountability. I am committed to guiding this department forward in a way that protects families, supports deputies, and honors the people of Rutherford County.

In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.

In short, the Sheriff’s Office requires experience, sound judgment, and leadership that has been tested and PROVEN! The Sheriff’s Office carries one of the most important responsibilities in county government: protecting the community while upholding the Constitution. The sheriff oversees patrol, investigations, detention, court security, and the civil process, making sure each division operates safely, professionally, and in service to the people of Rutherford County. This role demands proven leadership. The sheriff sets the direction of the entire agency, guides deputies, enforces standards, and ensures the department operates with clarity, consistency, and purpose. Every decision at the top affects deputy safety, community trust, and the effectiveness of daily operations. The sheriff is responsible for staffing, training, scheduling, and resource management. Strong operational leadership keeps the agency running efficiently and ensures deputies have the support they need to protect the public. Fiscal responsibility is another key duty. The sheriff manages the office's budget and must make practical, informed decisions that strengthen public safety without placing unnecessary strain on taxpayers. A core responsibility of the office is upholding constitutional rights. The sheriff must ensure that every action taken by the office respects due process, individual liberties, and the legal boundaries that protect the public.

What are your priorities for this office?

My focus is simple: reduce crime, support our people, protect families, and lead with proven experience. My priorities for this office start with taking a stronger stand against crime in Rutherford County. This county is growing fast, and criminals are taking advantage of it. We need proactive policing that targets violent offenders, drug trafficking, and the criminal activity moving through our neighborhoods. That requires leadership that has actually done the work, understands how crime moves, and knows how to stop it. Supporting the people who protect this county is just as important. Our deputies, detention officers, and school resource officers deserve Proven experienced leadership that shows up for them, sets clear expectations, and understands the realities they face. I’ve spent nearly three decades in those roles and leading. I know what they need to stay safe, stay prepared, and stay effective. Operational readiness is a priority. That means improving staffing, tightening response times, strengthening detention operations, and ensuring SROs have the training and support to protect our schools. Fiscal responsibility matters too. Fighting crime doesn’t require waste, it requires smart decisions, practical planning, and respect for taxpayers. And every priority is grounded in the Constitution. Protecting this county means protecting rights, due process, and the legal boundaries that guide professional policing.
