Tell us about your campaign.

I'm a 7th-generation Rutherford County resident who is tired of seeing everyone benefit from the growth we've experienced except the taxpayers. It's time we prioritized infrastructure. It's time we made decisions that directly benefit our residents instead of stockpiling mountains of taxpayer dollars with no intention of putting them to work. If we expect our quality of life to improve, then we have to invest in our people.

In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.

The County Commission is endowed with the power of the purse. The Commission's primary responsibility is the vetting and approval of budgets and directing the dispersal of taxpayer dollars.

What are your priorities for this office?

I want to audit every department within the county government to ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible. The next move is to take the savings we find and put them toward programs that benefit our residents. I'd like to see first responder and teacher pay on par with surrounding agencies; I'd also like to see a universal free lunch program for every student in county schools.

Describe your qualifications for this office.

I grew up in district 4. I'm running to represent my home. It means everything to me that the people of this district are represented and informed about goings-on and policies that directly affect them. I work two jobs and am raising a family in the district. A family that includes 2 kids in their late teens that can't afford to live here. It's time to prioritize someone other than builders and ultra-wealthy investors.
