Tell us about your campaign.

For 28 years, I have served Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. I worked my way up from detention to patrol, from narcotics and crime suppression to supervising specialized units and leading at the command level. I earned my experience by doing the work, learning the work, and teaching the work. That is the foundation I stand on today.

In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.

In short, the Sheriff’s Office requires experience, sound judgment, and leadership that has been tested and PROVEN! The Sheriff’s Office carries one of the most important responsibilities in county government: protecting the community while upholding the Constitution. The sheriff oversees patrol, investigations, detention, court security, and the civil process, making sure each division operates safely, professionally, and in service to the people of Rutherford County. This role demands proven leadership. The sheriff sets the direction of the entire agency, guides deputies, enforces standards, and ensures the department operates with clarity, consistency, and purpose. Every decision at the top affects deputy safety, community trust, and the effectiveness of daily operations. The sheriff is responsible for staffing, training, scheduling, and resource management. Strong operational leadership keeps the agency running efficiently and ensures deputies have the support they need to protect the public. Fiscal responsibility is another key duty. The sheriff manages the office's budget and must make practical, informed decisions that strengthen public safety without placing unnecessary strain on taxpayers. A core responsibility of the office is upholding constitutional rights. The sheriff must ensure that every action taken by the office respects due process, individual liberties, and the legal boundaries that protect the public.

What are your priorities for this office?

My focus is simple: reduce crime, support our people, protect families, and lead with proven experience. My priorities for this office start with taking a stronger stand against crime in Rutherford County. This county is growing fast, and criminals are taking advantage of it. We need proactive policing that targets violent offenders, drug trafficking, and the criminal activity moving through our neighborhoods. That requires leadership that has actually done the work, understands how crime moves, and knows how to stop it.
