Tell us about your campaign.
My "People's Campaign" is all about being the voice of Tennesseans. I am running to bring a new resurrection of hope to "Make Tennessee Whole Again". My policy position is multi-layered and entails over 14,000 Tennesseans voices. My components of this "Resurrection of Hope" Plan address the justification of why Tennesseans must be the focal point of the government's central core, its citizens' goal alignment, transparency on social, economic, and regulatory issues, and resource allocation. The main focus should be on the people and not politics, especially during critical times such as inflation. Summation of my favorite positions are: (1) Budgets are moral documents; therefore, it is immoral and unethical to give billionaires tax breaks while working-class citizens are economically suffering to stay above water, being forced out of traditional neighborhoods due to greedy investors, political backdoor deals with lobbyists, and political corruption at its highest in our Volunteer State. I am the only gubernato
In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.
First and foremost, I would be a boots-on-the-ground Governor. To promote transparency, a 24-hour hotline (800) NEW-TENN would be established. The Office of the Governor is for the people, by the people. Tennesseans should be at the core of every decision made by the Governor in their best interest. In my opinion, the Governor is responsible and accountable to the people and has the ultimate duty of providing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to all Tennesseans. Citizens have lost trust in politicians because their voices have not been heard. I plan to place people back into politics and restore trust in government. As a Governor, I would serve as the Chief Executive Officer and Commander-in-Chief responsible for directing state agencies, proposing a fair and equitable budget, enforcing laws, signing or vetoing legislation, expending public funds, nominating leaders for various departments and agencies, grant reprieves and pardons. In this position, I would give all Tennesseans a seat at the table o
What are your priorities for this office?
My priority is getting people's voices back into politics. First, address accountability and transparency in government as it relates to economic inequities, governmental abuse, waste, and overreach. Second, budgets are moral documents, and every Tennessean should be receiving equitable benefits from the State of Tennessee. Third, restore justice to the people by releasing the $717 million in Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). Fourth, address all discriminatory actions against the citizens of Tennessee relating to women's reproductive rights, LGBTQIA+, civil rights, voter suppression, redistricting, and affordable housing. Fifth, address the rural governmental economic neglect. Sixth, the working class should not be struggling on low wages, with high costs of food, housing, gas, utilities, childcare, and insurance, while billionaires are receiving tax breaks and payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOTs). Seventh, Property Tax Reimbursement for 100% disabled veterans/surviving spouses. Eighth, homeless ind
Describe your qualifications for this office.
As the next potential Governor of the State of Tennessee, I come with 40 years of serving Tennesseans as a community advocate and public servant. I have fought against economic disparities, housing disparities, rural hospital closures, and abusive data centers. I have worked in the capacity of Dean of Medical Studies, Academic Dean, Dean of Student Affairs, Nursing Home Administrator, Hospital Administrator, Nurse, and Public Health Administrator. I am well-versed in governmental rules & regulations, accounting, and community development. I have served Tennesseans across the State of Tennessee by placing boots-on-the-ground, catering to their needs by addressing food insecurity for over 10,000 homeless individuals annually, donating 5,000 book bags and school supplies, donating 5,000 coats, gloves, and hats annually, donating 200 air conditioners to senior citizen
