As the mother of a student at LaVergne High School, I see firsthand the realities our students, educators, and families face every day. I understand the importance of safe schools, well-funded classrooms, and teachers who feel supported and heard. Our educators are the backbone of our schools, and they deserve clear communication, strong leadership, and the resources they need to help every student succeed.

In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.

A school board member's role is to establish policies, oversee the district's budget, hire and evaluate the director of schools, and ensure every decision supports student success. It's about providing strategic leadership—not managing the day-to-day operations of schools. Most importantly, school board members are responsible for representing the community while always keeping students' best interests at the center of every decision.

What are your priorities for this office?

Inclusive Schools aren't political - they're effective and public schools are necessary and need to be fully funded. When students feel safe and respected, they learn better. When families feel heard, trust grows. And when leadership listens, schools thrive. I believe in our kids, our schools, and our voices. Because I know strong schools start with strong voices

Being an engaged parent has given me a front-row seat to the realities our schools face every day. I've spent years advocating for students, working with families, and understanding the importance of communication between schools and the community. Those experiences have taught me how to listen, solve problems, build relationships, and make thoughtful decisions that put people first.
