Tell us about your campaign.

I have dedicated my life to fighting for the people of Tennessee because I believe public service should be measured by results, not rhetoric. As a State Representative, State Senator, and Chair of the Tennessee Senate Democratic Caucus, I have worked every day to expand opportunity, protect working families, and ensure every voice has a seat at the table. Together, we have passed meaningful legislation that has strengthened maternal health, improved public safety, protected consumers, expanded educational opportunities, and delivered real results for our communities. But too many families are still working harder than ever while falling further behind. The cost of housing, groceries, childcare, and healthcare continues to rise while Washington remains divided. Our communities deserve a representative who understands these challenges because she has spent her career fighting to solve them. That is why I am running for Congress. My campaign is about putting people first. I believe every family deserves affordable healthcare, every child deserves access to a high quality education, every worker deserves the opportunity to earn a good living, and every neighborhood deserves to be safe and prosperous. I will continue fighting to lower costs for working families, protect Social Security and Medicare, expand access to quality healthcare, strengthen public education, create good-paying jobs, support small businesses, and invest in the infrastructure that connects and grows our communities. I have never been afraid to stand up for what is right, even when it was difficult. Whether advocating for maternal health, protecting voting rights, supporting victims of crime, or championing policies that create economic opportunity, I have always believed leadership means listening to people, building coalitions, and delivering results. This campaign is bigger than one person. It is about building a future where every child has the opportunity to succeed, every senior can retire with dignity, every worker can provide for their family, and every community has the resources it needs to thrive. I am running for Congress because I believe our best days are ahead of us. Together, we can build an economy that works for everyone, strengthen our democracy, protect our freedoms, and create a future where every Tennessean has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead. I would be honored to earn your trust, your support, and your vote.

In your own words, describe the responsibilities of the office you are seeking.

A Member of Congress has one of the most important responsibilities in our democracy: to represent the people of their district and ensure their voices are heard in Washington. That means listening to constituents, addressing their concerns, and advocating for policies that improve their daily lives. The job includes writing, debating, and voting on federal legislation, overseeing how taxpayer dollars are spent, and holding the executive branch accountable through oversight. Members of Congress also work across party lines when possible to secure resources for their communities, support economic development, strengthen infrastructure, improve public safety, and expand access to quality healthcare and education. Just as important is constituent service. A congressional office helps individuals navigate federal agencies, assists veterans in accessing earned benefits, supports seniors with Social Security and Medicare issues, helps families with passport and immigration matters, and connects communities with federal grants and programs. I believe this role is about more than casting votes in Washington. It is about being present in the community, building relationships, solving problems, and ensuring that the federal government works for the people it serves. A Member of Congress should be accessible, accountable, and committed to delivering real results for every constituent, regardless of political party.

What are your priorities for this office?

My top priority is lowering costs and expanding opportunity for working families. That starts with making healthcare more affordable, protecting Social Security and Medicare, lowering prescription drug costs, increasing access to quality childcare, and addressing the rising cost of housing so families can build stable futures. I will also fight to strengthen public education by investing in our schools, supporting teachers, expanding workforce development, and creating pathways to good-paying jobs. A strong economy depends on preparing students and workers for the industries of tomorrow while supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs that drive local economic growth. Protecting our fundamental freedoms is another priority. I will work to safeguard voting rights, defend reproductive freedom, promote equal opportunity, and ensure every person is treated with dignity and respect under the law. Public safety remains essential. I support investing in proven crime prevention strategies, strengthening community partnerships, supporting law enforcement with the tools and training they need, and addressing the root causes of crime through education, mental health services, and economic opportunity. I believe Congress must become more accountable and responsive to the people it serves. I will lead with transparency, listen to constituents, work across the aisle when possible, and remain focused on delivering meaningful results that improve the lives of the people of Tennessee.

Describe your qualifications for this office.

Voters should trust me because I have spent my career showing up, doing the work, and delivering results. I have served our community in the Tennessee House of Representatives and the Tennessee Senate, where I currently serve as Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus. Throughout my time in office, I have worked to pass meaningful legislation, secure resources for our communities, and advocate for families who too often feel overlooked. My approach to public service has always been rooted in listening first. Whether I am meeting with constituents, local leaders, small business owners, educators, healthcare providers, or community organizations, I believe the best policies are shaped by the people they impact. That is why I have focused on issues such as maternal health, public safety, education, economic opportunity, voting rights, and expanding access to affordable healthcare. Leadership is not about making promises. It is about keeping them. I believe in being accessible, transparent, and accountable to the people I represent. Even when challenges arise, I remain committed to finding practical solutions, building partnerships, and standing up for what is right. I am asking for your trust because I have a proven record of service, a history of bringing people together, and a deep commitment to fighting for every family in our community. I will bring that same dedication, integrity, and results-driven leadership to Congress every single day.
